I realized the other day that not everybody knows who Derek Webb is, or is familiar with his music/ministry. So as to remedy that problemo, I wanted to post this video of his song “New Law” that came out a few years ago, and give a link to his website. He can be edgy at times, but who doesn’t like edgy? And remember, he’s a Ron Paul supporter!

Edgy, yes. I particularly like the lines about being told who to vote for over understanding politics, and especially preferring grape juice over understanding moderation and Christian liberty, particularly given my personal context as a SBTS student.
Love Webb. I don’t want my flock to build their theology around him, necessarily, but he’s food for thought, which I think is the point of this song, as with most of his work.
Great choice.
